Crocilla is a comedic highlight, and Kemp and Sayle subtly drive much of the show’s emotions. It also helps that all three are very gifted performers.

REVIEWS FOR MUSIC MAN

Music Man

A special word on Vincent Crocilla, the 7-year-old who plays the alternately withdrawn and exhuberant Winthrop: Seldom do you see somebody that small tearing up the stage with a trumpet-like voice and unfiltered attitude that says, “Watch me nail this one!”Theatergoers left saying, “He’s the next Ron Howard.” Nah. This kid’s talent is more like Ethel Merman’s.

As Winthrop Paroo, Marian’s eight-year old shy and lisping younger brother, Vincent Crocilla  justifiably brought down the house in his “Gary, Indiana” number on opening night.

In the opening night performance, Jamieson O’Brien was terrific as Amarylis and Vincent Crocilla shone as Winthrop Paroo. Toward the end of the show, Crocilla’s withdrawn character didn’t just come out of his shell, he burst out like a bullet, effectively stealing the scene and the hearts of the audience.

This precious child is TOO cute. When he struts the tune “Gary Indiana” (resembling Psy’s Gangman dance), the house exploded. There were tears coursing down cheeks on a number of faces, male and female.
